Benjamin Dhong amusingly calls his exotic design of a guest room in San Francisco an ‘Opium Den.’ Do you love? In his theatrical nod to the Raj, he placed de Gournay’s ‘Early Views of India’ grisaille wallpaper as the backdrop, and placed Michelle Nussbaumer’s elegant and grand Chinese daybed (from Ceylon et Cie) as the pièce de résistance! Dhong also brilliantly placed a few hip modern pieces in the room, such as the spherical lamps, and the Hans Barbell brass table by Jonathan Adler. I’d love to be a guest in this room!
