There are so many good boulangeries, patisseries and traiteurs in Paris, but one of our favorites has always been the Gerard Mulot shop on rue de Seine. It's now Maison Mulot and under new ownership but the standards remain high. We love stocking up for a picnic at the shop, and this particular ensemble was for a visit to the Jardin des Plantes. Mulot makes these unique little croques monsieurs — seen in the photo with this listing — using a nice bechamel inside instead of the usual toasted cheese on top.
